Whenever an artist begins a new painting, they first cover the canvass with a base paint, usually white, so that the colors blend and adhere to the surface better. Believe it or not, the same goes for your skin! If you're applying moisturizers and treatments without first preparing the surface, you're wasting your money.

Each minute of the day, we lose approximately 30,000 to 40,000 dead skin cells from the surface of our skin. And this is just under normal circumstances! You know those dust bunnies under your furniture? A lot of the dust we find in our homes is made up mostly of dead skin cells. EEW!!

So, what's the answer? EXFOLIATION!
